Skillet Meatballs and Noodles in Creamy Herb Sauce

Ingredients:

  • 1 c. Shirley J Universal Sauce
  • 3 1/2 c. Water(with 1 3/4 tsp Shirley J Chicken Bouillon, combined)
  • 1 lbs Lean Ground Beef
  • 1-5.2 oz package Rondale Or Boursin Garlic And Herb Cheese Mixture(crumbled)
  • 1/2 Small Onion, Diced
  • 1 Tbs Vegetable Oil
  • 2 Tbs Flour
  • 8 oz Dry Egg Noodles, Cooked

Directions:

Combine beef and 5 T. cheese mixture, ¾ t. salt and ¼ t. pepper with onion in medium bowl and knead gently to combine. Form mixture into 1” meatballs. Heat oil in large non stick skillet over medium-high heat until hot. Cook meatballs until well browned all over, about 5 minutes. Transfer meatballs to plate. Pour off remaining fat. In same pan, combine Bouillon and Universal sauce and stir until thickened. Add Meatballs and Noodles and heat thoroughly. Top with chives just before serving.

I love Shirley J recipes and the Universal Sauce, but this recipe didn't float my boat. Even with the Boursin cheese added to the meatball mixture, my husband thought they tasted bland. And, why the flour? I didn't see anywhere in the recipe where it was to be used. I keep cooking with Shirley J products, though! This one just wasn't a 5-Star.
